Before taking an online course:
Review the NCVPS Application and User Agreement form.
Both forms must be completed, signed, and returned to Ms. Carlton before placement into an online course will be considered.
*** Forms should be turned in before the end of the school year PRIOR to the school year which the student hopes to enroll in the course
SWA does NOT accept mid-year enrollment requests for online courses.*
*Exceptions are only made for students who fail a course during the fall semester and need the course in order to graduate on time.
Example: If you are a 10th grader hoping to take AP Psychology online during your JUNIOR year, you must submit this form before school closes for the summer during your 10th grade year.

Once enrolled in an online course:
- You should receive an email from Ms. Carlton with your NCVPS username, password, and registration info.
- Online courses often start approximately 1 week after SWA courses begin. You may refer to the NCVPS Calendar for official dates.
- Prior to the first day of classes, your instructor should email you confirming your enrollment in the course and welcoming you to their class.
- Student usernames and passwords will often be invalid until the day before or the first day of classes. If you continue to have problems signing into your student portal after the first day of class, come see Ms. Carlton.
- Online courses can sometimes be a steep learning curve for students, check out these tips for How to Get an A in an Online Class.
